On Cultivation of Autonomous-Learning Ability in College English

Autonomous learning is an important way for university students to acquire knowledge and skills.One of major objects for the reform of college English teaching is to establish a subject position of the students in teaching and develop a personalized autonomous English learning ability of the students.In order to develop the autonomous-learning ability of university students,schools must establish a correct concept of curriculum,and the curriculum design and teaching in schools should adapt to the actual conditions of students;the role of teachers should be converted to provide students with adequate study resources,to cultivate the independent study habit of the students,to exploit their autonomous-learning potential and stimulate their learning motivation;the students themselves also should have a positive study attitude and establish a specific purpose.Only in doing so,can the university students acquire the autonomous-learning ability in college English.
