Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of early cognitive rehabilitation training for the neurological function recovery among stroke survivors. Methods:Sixty hospitalized stroke patients were recruited and divided into the study and control groups. The control group (n=30) received conventional nursing and training, while the study group (n=30) received early cognitive neurological training. The two groups were investigated by Clinical Stroke Scale(CSS),Mini-mental State Examination(MMSE) and Modified Barthel Index(MBI)before training,15 and 30 days after training. Results:Before training, all patients showed low scores of CSS, MMSE and MBI and there was no significant difference between the two groups (P0.05). However, the scores of CSS, MMSE and MBI in the study group after training were significantly higher than before training (P0.05) and than those of the control group (P0.05). The scores of MMSE and MBI 30 days after training in control group were significantly higher than before training (P0.05). Conclusion: Early cognitive rehabilitation training could improve the cognitive function and ability of dailyliving, and promote the patients recovery as soon as possible.
