Abstract
Objective To study whether the sequential therapy can cure patients infected with Helicobacter pylori(Hp) more effectively than the standard triple therapy, and the differences of the side effect resulted from the two solutions. Methods 60 cases of the Hp positive patients were randomly divided into two groups:the treatment group(n=30) and the compared group(n=30).The treatment group will first be given esomeprazole and amoxicillin for oral use twice per day for five days. Then the group will continue to take esomeprazole, clarithromycin and metronidazole orally twice per day for five days of sequential therapy;meanwhile, the compared group was given the standard triple therapy. The rapid urease test was rechecked 30 days after the period of the treatment, and the HP eradication rate and the side effect will be observed. Results The HP eradication rate of the treatment group was 93.3%,and that of the compared group was 73.3%,and there was significant difference between two groups(P0.05).Patients who have side effects in the treatment group and the compared group were 3 cases and 2 cases. Conclusion Ten days of sequential therapy composed of esomeprazole, amoxicillin, clarithromycin, metronidazole is a Hp eradicate scheme with high curative effect and fewer side effects, which can be used as a kind of Hp infection treatment options.
