Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of transscleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation for refractory traumatic glaucoma following vitrectomy. Methods 36 cases (36 eyes) with refractory traumatic glaucoma following vitrectomy were received the laser traetments with 1500-2000 MW for 1500-2000 MS, ranging 90°-270°,12-30 spots.the patients were followed three to twelve months. Results The intraocular pressure (lOP) were 40.21±14.46 mmHg before treatment. IOP were 20.53±6.70 mmHg after treatment, IOP was signifrcantly decreased by transscleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation (P0.001).the success rate of surgery was 75% .the visual acuity at average 6 months following-up, 25 eyes (69.4%) were improved,8 eyes (22.2%) were stable and 3 eyes were decrease.1 eye (2.8%) were phthisis bulbi. Conclusion Transscleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation is a safe and effective therapy for the treatment refractory traumatic glaucoma following vitrectomy. Pay attention to the timing and method of operation can improve the vision and reducing complications.
