Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of anterior chamber paracentesis in trabeculectomy for the patients with glaucoma under ocular hypertension and complications. Methods 22 patients(22 eyes) whose intraocular pressure were greater than 50mmHg after anti-glaucoma medication of combination over 48 hours were performed anterior chamber paracentesis before trabeculectmy and followed up for 3~24 months. Results The IOP of 22 eyes were decreased from pre-operation 52.56±6.51mmHg to post-operation 14.28±5.16mmHg.The success rate of operation was 90.91%.The shallow of anterior chamber was main complication. Conclusion Anterior chamber paracentesis is a effective and safe measure during trabeculectomy under ocular hypertension with less complication and high successful rate.
