Abstract
Canonical correlations of sensory quality,physical property,chemical components,and smoking quality were analyzed respectively using flue-cured tobacco samples from tobacco-growing areas of Hunan province.Results indicated that the evaluating indices of above mentioned quality characters all showed significant canonical correlations.Relationship between chemical components and smoking quality was the most significant followed by relationship between sensory quality and physical property.Characters such as maturity,leaf organization and growth status,physical property such as leaf thickness,weight per leaf,and weight per unit leaf area,chemical components such as nicotine and reducing sugar, and smoking quality such as aroma quality,aroma quantity,and ash color played important roles between any two quality groups relationship.Quality evaluating indices in flue-cured tobacco by utilizing canonical correlation analysis can be simplified.
