Abstract
Purpose:To evaluate the surgical treatment of huge staghorn stone. Methods:The data of 66 cases treated with an incision of the intrarenal sinus supplemented by a postrenal low pole segmental incision were analysed. Results:The biggest stone is 7.5 cm× 4.3 cm× 3.1 cm and in one case the stones amount to 117.The average bleeding is 280 ml.Operation takes 100 minutes (mean time).Postoperative examination with B ultrasound and KUB revealed residual stones in 5 cases, the diameters are less than 1 cm.Conclusions:We conclude that this method need no interdiction of renal pedicle, has advantages of less bleeding, offer a clear operation field and convenient for calculi removing.
