Abstract

Objective To investigate the health literacy level of urban residents in Liuzhou,and provide scientific evidences for making policies and measures to improve the health literacy.Method Adopting stratified random sampling method to select 800 residents aged at 15 to 69 of Liuzhou.Using national public health literacy questionnaire to carry out investigation on objects.Results 753 available questionnaires were retrieved,the effective recovery rate was 94.12%,and the mean score of health literacy was(66.72±14.30).24.60% of the residents reached over 80 points.The four major factors affected the level of health literacy were ethnic,cultural level,occupation and monthly income.Conclusions The health literacy level of urban residents in Liuzhou was low,so we need to energetically carry out health education and health promotion to improve the health literacy level.
