Abstract
A new method of zinc determination in zinc concentrate is established. The influence of concomitant ions, the choice and the amount of masking agent, the standard zinc recovery experiment of adding cadmium, and standard addition recovery experiment are discussed. The results show that cadmium can be masked completely when the addition of potassium iodide is more than 5g in pH5~6 solution of potassium iodide as masking agent. When the amount of cadmium is less than 5mg,the zinc recovery is 99.9%~100.9% in the standard zinc recovery experiment of adding cadmium, and it is more than 98% in standard addition recovery experiment. The method is suitable for zinc determination in zinc concentrates and cadmium-zinc ore,the results are very consistent with the results measured by polarograph.
