Abstract
To satisfy the diversified surveyes in railway engineering, convertible calculation among the same ellipsoid and coordinate conversion among the different ellipsoid are always required in the survey and design of high speed railway. This paper probes into the approaches for establishment of independent coordinate and conversion of various coordinates in high speed railway engineering. It also analyzes the conversion precision and effect of the aforesaid approaches and comes to a conclusion that the different conversion methods have their different application scopes. When conditions permit, multiple methods should be adopted and surplus check points should be used for comparison and analysis for the purpose of picking out the optimum scheme.
