Abstract

The effectiveness of Yttrium nitrate, carboxymethyl chitosan and their composite as a flocculant to printing and dyeing wastewater was investigated which was on based on the dosage of carboxymethyl chitosan of 480mg/L,pH=2.3.It was discovered that there were two influencing factors which were the dosage of rare earth and temperature. The best dosage of rare earth of Yttrium for treatment were found to 5mg/L and the best temperature was 50℃.Then the chroma and the turbidity of printing and dyeing waste water could be reduced by over 99%,the chemical oxygen demand(COD) could be reduced by 76.59%,the ammonia nitrogen(NH3-N) could be reduced by 77.12%.Contrarily,the effect with only use of carboxymethyl chitosan was unevidence.
