Abstract

OBJECTIVE To compare and analyze the test results of faeces routine in two kinds of faeces obtaining methods with anus swab and by patients self service so as to provide basis for the screening of infectious diseases in intestinal clinic.METHODS The diarrhea patients who were treated in the clinic in 3time slots were enrolled in the study. The subjects were divided into two groups, then the patients were divided into the bacillary dysentery, infectious diarrhea, and other diarrhea diseases according to the result of routine test, the test results were statistically analyzed.RESULTS The patients with bacillary dysentery accounted for 21.2% in Jul-Aug 2010,17.8%in Jul-Aug 2011,and 13.9%in Jun-Sep 2012;the patients with infectious diarrhea accounted for 12.5%,9.6%,and 14.8%,respectively;the patients with other diarrhea diseases accounted for 66.3%,72.6%,and71.3%,respectively;the chi-square test indicated that the difference between the two kinds of faeces obtaining methods during the three time periods was not significant.By means of faeces obtaining with anus test, the patients with bacillary dysentery accounted for 15.5%,the patient with infectious diarrhea 13.3%,and the patients with other diarrhea diseases 71.2%;by means of faeces obtaining with patients self service, the patients with bacillary dysentery accounted for 18.6%,the patients with infectious diarrhea 11.3%,and the patients with other diarrhea diseases 70.1%,the statistical analysis showed that the difference in the test result between the faeces obtaining with anus test and the faeces obtaining with patients self service was not significant.CONCLUSIONThere is no significant difference in the result of faeces routine test for the diarrhea population between the two faeces obtaining methods.
