Abstract

Effects of five rooting accelerators with three different concentrations on autumn-cuttings in Sloanea hemsleyana were tested. The results show that each rooting accelerator had a highly significant effect on the emergence of adventitious roots, rooting rate, and average total root length, and a remarkable effect on average rooting number was identified.Different concentrations of the rooting accelerators did not have remarkable effects on the emergence of adventitious roots of cuttings, average rooting number, and average total root length, but had a highly significant effect on the rooting rate of the cuttings. The interaction of rooting accelerator type and concentration demonstrated no significant effects on the emergence of adventitious roots, rooting rate, average rooting number, and average total root length of cuttings. The comprehensive assessment indicate that rooting effect was better after the cuttings were dipped in K-IBA with a concentration 1000~3000mg/L than with other rooting acclerants and concentration.
