Abstract

Objective To explore the value of CT angiography (CTA) and digital subtraction angiography(DSA) in diagonosis and treatment of intracranial arteriovenous malformations(AVM). Methods 45 patients of the AVMs were examined prospectively with CTA.The data was performed 3D reconstruction with MIP and VR in all patients. We analyzed the AVMs showed by CTA and compared with DSA and operative feeling. Some patients underwent CTA and DSA after operation. Results The sensitivity and specificity of CTA in the detection of the AVMs were 93.33% and 100% respectively. The figure, location, main supplying arteries and most of draining veins of the AVMs were displayed very well on CTA.Conclusion CTA is a valuable method of angiography which has great value in diagnosis and treatment of AVMs.CTA can be used to screen patients with suspecting AVMs and is one of method in following up the operated patients.
