Abstract

Line does not exist. It' s the form of expression that people abstract through observation and consideration in order to describe the wold. This kind of original unexisted line becomes the basic language of drawing through artists' observation, thought and imagination. Chinese artists grant the line special meaning especially . The line in Chinese painting is a kind of form of expression full of orient charact of arts. Chinese painters lay stress on the quality of lines and pay attention to the expression of deeper sence of beauty, such as line' s strength, connotation and rhyme. Chinese artists also pour their subjective feeing and spivitural feeling into the line's expression . lines in Chinese painting beyond simple function of models are organic combination of emotion, surroundings and meaning. Chinese painting is the rhymes of the lines. And the lines can exist as a kind of painting, why? This is what the author try to elaborate.
