Abstract

Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons(NPT)was signed in January 1968 by fifty-nine such as Britain, US, Soviet Unionand, and took into effect in March 1970. Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons is the cornerstone of the international system of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. Although there are only eleven articles in the NPT, it has epoch-making significance in comprehensive and thorough nuclear disarmament and the world's peace and safety maintenance. However, due to some inherent problems, such as some slurred concepts, discriminaion against non-nuclear nations, the quit of the member, the investigation purview of the IAEA, the NPT need to revise and develop and call on the multi-lateral cooperation.
