Abstract

As a new model plant,Brachypodium distachyon represents important traits for study in temperate cereals and forage grasses. In the present study, the phenological and phenotypic differences and correlations among 90 ecotypes of B.distachyon originating from four different locations in Israel were investigated. The results showed that B.distachyon among different ecotypes and populations had significant differences on growing periods and most traits under the natural climatic conditions in Guizhou Province.ANOVA showed that there were significant effects of different ecotypes and populations on these growing periods and traits. The order of average growing days among four populations was Tibigha Yatir Mt.Carmel Sede Boqer.Spearman’s Rho Correlation test indicated that three leaves, tillering, heading had significant correlations with the most of traits. The phenotypic differences of B.distachyon was the results of long-term selected evolution adaptability under the special ecologicad condition and the basis of producing genetic diversity, which can provide a evidence to study the cereals and forage grasses on molecular biology in the future.
