Abstract
Involute cylindrical gear is applied extremely widely in the modern mechanical transmission,but the traditional design method has not been able to meet the need of the industry technology.The paper summarized the method of parametric entity construction under the SolidWorks.Using Visual Basic 6.0 which was supported by SolidWorks as the development tool,combining the method of modular design and the parameter technology to develop the input dialog box,the paper developed an automatic rapid design system to design the involute cylindrical gear.
