Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of laparoscopic splenectomy(LS)in the treatment of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP).Methods:Eight patients with ITP underwent LS.The data of preoperative and postoperative platelet counts, intraoperative blood loss, recovery time, hospital stay time, and complications were analyzedg. Results:Average operation time was 120min,average blood loss in operation was 100ml,peristalsis of alimentary tract was recovered in 12-24 hours after operation in all cases.Their mean hospitalization time was 5 days.No complications were seen in the cases. Conclusion:LS was a relatively safe and effective measure for treatment of ITP.
