Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the therapeutic effect of compound glycyrrhizin injection on the treatment of patients with chronic active hepatitis B,as well as on serum TNF-α and IL-6.METHODS Forty patients with chronic active hepatitis B were recruited and treated with compound glycyrrhizin injection iv blood samples were taken 2-4 weeks after treatment.Hepatic function parameters,TNF-α and IL-6,and clinic response were analyzed in these patients.RESULTS After treatment with compound glycyrrhizin injection, liver function parameters such as serum ALT,AST and bilirubin were significantly decreased 2~4 weeks after treatment compared with those at the beginning of treatment. The treatment significantly improved clinical symptoms, and down-regulated the serum levels of TNF-α and IL-6.CONCLUSION Compound glycyrrhizin injection is effective to treat chronic hepatitis B,improve the clinical symptoms, and down-regulate pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-6.
