Abstract
Objective To explore the characteristics of temperament in children aged between 3 and 7.Methods Questionnaire investigation was conducted among the parents of children aged between 3~7 years to evaluate children's temperament types according to the civil norm by using 'China Preschool-children Temperament Scale(CPTS)'.Results The most types of temperament in these children were inclined-easy type and easy type,there was no age and sex difference in type of temperament.In the nine dimensions of temperament,intensity of reaction,threshold of reaction,activity level,distractibility and rhythmicity ranked the first five dimensions of temperament.The scores of activity level in boys were higher than those of the girls,and the scores of rhythmicity and threshold of reaction were lower than those of the girls.The difference of the scores of dimensionality about activity level,adaptability,quality of mood,attention span and persistence,threshold of reaction in children of different age was significant.Conclusions Some dimensions of temperament are affected by age and sex in children aged between 3 and 7 years.
