Abstract
Based on unstructured grid generation technique, finite volume method and fractional step algorithm,a numerical implicit model was developed for the solution to the system of shallow water equations at the computational geometry associated with complex boundaries. With the implicit scheme to obtain the fluxes between the neighboring units, this model is numerical stabile. And it was applied to simulate the water flow pattern of the braided channel with islands of the Lower Changjiang river at Nanjing area. The result shows that the model is feasibility and validity.
