INVESTIGATION ON THE UTILIZATION OF ANTIBACTERIALS IN OUR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Abstract

Objective To survey the usage of antibiotics in the emergency department of our hospital,in order to evaluate the rationality of their medication,provide the guidance of scientific and reasonable application in antibiotics field.Methods 2 518 prescriptions(July 2009~June 2010) from emergency department were taken out,1 715 prescriptions contain antibiotics,the ratio is up to 68.11%.Then analysis statistically the application,frequency,combined useful of antibiotics for different diseases.Results In all of the 2 518 prescriptions,1 715 prescriptions contain antibiotics,the ratio is up to 68.11%.Most frequently used antibiotics were cephalosporins,and then macrolides.The corresponding diseases are mainly for respiratory infections,next were the trauma of preventive infection.Conclusion The use rate of antibiotics in our hospital emergency department was higher than 50% which was the regulated by the State Ministry of Health.The excess application of antibiotics in our hospital was reflected to some extent.
