Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between the levels of COMP in serum and severity of osteoarthritis. Methods Serum samples of 22 patients with osteoarthritis and 40 normal persons in controls were collected.Serum levels of COMP were analysed using Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results Serum-COMP levels of osteoarthritis patients were higher than those in control group(P0.05).Conclusion The serum levels of COMP is related with the grade of destruction of osteoarthritis cartilage.COMP is the sensitive marker reflecting the metabolic changes of articular cartilage.
