Abstract
The indomethacin-loaded microcapsules were prepared via complex coacervation method using chitosan and acacia as wall-materials and glutaraldehyde as crosslinking agent. It was discussed that the different molecular weight or different degrees of deacetylated wall material-chitosan effect on the microcapsules properties. The results showed that the encapsulation efficiencies, drug loading amount, water uptake properties and the size of microcapsules prepared with different molecular weight and different degrees of deacetylated chitosan were obviously different and the characteristics of controlled and sustained release of the microcapsules were unequal in vitro.
