Abstract

The thermal capacity is one of the important parameters to reflect the thermal property of soil. The regularities of daily variation of water content and the variation of its vertical distribution as well as the effect of water content on daily variation of soil temperature were studied based on experimental analysis. The result shows that the moisture movement and heat transfer in soil is a unified and indivisible system, that the variation of soil water content is closely related to the daily variation of soil temperature under the condition of no surface water recharge, and that heat transfer in soil water is one of the most important influencing factors on water supply from soil layer to evaporation surface.
