Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effects of comprehensive support intervention in community on schizophrenic social rehabilitation. Methods:A total of 189 patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into intervention group (n=95) and control group (n=94). The patients in intervention group were subjected to policy support, psychological support, mental health education, rehabilitation skills training, dosage guide, and favorable response to stress mode was established, and those in control group received clinic medication guide only. All cases were assessed with Positive and Negative Symptom Scale (PANSS),Social Disability Screening Schedule (SDSS),WAIS-RC,WMS and TESS at baseline and the end of 1 year. Results:The scores of all the scales had no significant differences between two groups at baseline. At the end of 1 year, the scores of PANSS in intervention group were 38.78±9.59,7.41±1.13,11.30±5.91,20.18±5.17,significantly lower than those in control group (46.86±16.35,8.61±3.19,13.53±7.82,24.78±8.11) (P0.01); The scores of SDSS in intervention group and control group were 7.56±2.12 and 9.78±2.76 respectively with the difference being significant (P0.05). IQ and MQ in intervention group were 111.76±15.44 and 110.58±18.01 respectively, significantly higher than those in control group (102.21±13.43,96.66±18.28) (P0.01). The recurrence rate in intervention group was 18.94% (18 cases),significantly lower than that in control group (35.11%,P0.05). There was no significant difference in side-effects between two groups. Conclusion:The comprehensive support intervention is effective for social rehabilitation in schizophrenia.
