Abstract
In order to reduce ship resistance,a bulbous bow is generally used for low speed full-hull ship.The calm water resistance experiments for a low speed ship model is introduced.The experiments are carried out in the towing tank.The model’s bow is changed from a raked shape to bulbous bow.The data are obtained for the two conditions.By the experiments,the effects for reducing resistance are checked;the effective power for real ship is estimated.The proofs for the general ship design are provided.
