Abstract

Vermiculite is a kind of magnesium aluminum silicate iron water degenerate secondary metamorphic minerals of layered structure.After modified,the stability,catalytic properties and adsorption properties of vermiculites would have been improved.However,up to now,investigates on modified vermiculite had not been deeply developed by scholars at home and abroad.In this paper,heat treatment modification method were used on vermiculite in Xinjiang,and two conclusions were drawn:1.Selecting hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide as intercalation agent and using the method of heating till boiled,we can get modified vermiculite;2.Compared with the original vermiculite,the spacing of layer of modified vermiculites were increased and the interlayer water content was decreased.
