Abstract

In this article, the expansion performance of the industry vermiculite was performed by using heat hydrogen peroxide solution, and gained the best conditions for expansion.Subsequently,we used HDTMA·Br for intercalation reagent to study the intercalation properties of vermiculite. All the species were characterized by analysis of SEM,XRD,IR.The result indicates that, the vermiculite layer space increases from 1.46 nm to 2.61 nm and the inflation effect is remarkable. The vermiculite and the expanded vermiculite inserted experiment shows that vermiculite layer space increase from 1.46 nm to 4.32 nm and the vermiculite exerted above increase from 2.68 nm to 4.36 nm under conditions of 240 % CEC(Cation Exchange Capacity)for HDTMA·Br content,at heat temperature 80 ℃ and reaction time 0.5 h,which demonstrates that the intercalation effect of vermiculite expanded by hydrogen peroxide solution is better than industrial vermiculite.
