Abstract
The turbidity of water will do harm to people's health and water environment.Source water and water with high turbidity should be treated before use.Based on an exposition of the treating methodology by coagulation, experiments on turbidity-removing performance were done with typical flocculants and such effect factors as flocculant dose were also discussed. The optimal parameters were obtained as follows: the removal ratio of turbidity is 95% when the ferric sulphate dose is 20 mg,coagulation time 10 min and pH 9.0;it comes up to 97% when the aluminum sulphate dose is 10 mg,coagulation time 10 min and pH 5.5-6.0;it reaches the highest ratio of 99% when the polyacrylamide(PAM) dose is 10 mg,coagulation time 10 min and pH 1.0-6.0.Experiment results show PAM is an excellent water treatment reagent for turbidity removal.
