Abstract

Twenty-five disperse dyes are employed to dye silk/PLA mixture, the distribution of dyes on silk and PLA components and the influence of reduction clearing on color depth of silk are investigated, and the color fastness of the dyeings to washing and light are determined. The amounts of the adsorption of disperse dyes, especially azobenzene ones,on silk are found to be higher than those on PLA.It is difficult for the staining of disperse dyes on silk to be removed by alkaline and acidic reduction clearing. Most disperse dyes on silk/PLA dyeings exhibited good light fastness, low color change in fastness to washing, and low polyester staining of fastness to washing.Silk staining of fastness to washing is dependent on individual dyes.Silk/PLA mixture can be dyed with the reasonably selected disperse dyes according to the demands for color fastness.
