Abstract
The cracking and aromatization performances of HZSM 5 zeolite modified by rare earths were investigated by means of n hexane continuous flow microreactor and the surface property of these catalysts was also studied by IR (infrared spectra), XRD (X ray diffraction), XPS (X ray photoelectron spectrometry). The effects of catalyst preparation methods on the property and reaction performance were discussed. The experimental results show that the rare earths improve the aromatization performance of the catalysts prepared by mechanical mixing method. Brnsted acid site is the active centre of n hexane aromatization, while Lewis acid site plays a role in n hexane cracking.
