Abstract

Objective To investigate resistance of acinetobacter baumannii in DaLian Friendship Hospital from August 2004 to November 2006,providing laboratory evidences for clinical treatment. Methods Acinetobacter baumannii was identified by ATB expression system(bioMerieux Corporate) and susceptibility was determined by Kirby-Bauer method. The resistance rates were analyzed by WHONET 5.3 software(World Health Organization). Results Over 93% isolates of acinetobacter baumannii were sensitive to carbapenems, however, acinetobacter baumannii was severely resistant to many other antimicrobial agents. There were multi-drug resistant and pan-drug resistant strains of acinetobacter baumannii. Conclusion Reasonable use of antibiotics based on susceptibility test is needed.
