Abstract
Characteristic of the rotor is the combined result of magnetic bearing technology and the rotor dynamics. The efficiency, reliability and longevity of rotating machinery are directly influenced by the bearing's supporting characteristics. In order for the measurement of magnetic bearing's dynamic stiffness and damping,a simple procedure, for identification of a bearing support parameter from recorded transient rotor responses due to impact loads adopted. This paper describes the basic theory of the method to identify equivalent stiffness and damping of AMB from rotor dynamic response due to the method is applied to identify support parameters in a five-degree of freedom rotor-bearings system. The identificated parameters proved a close match with the initial given ones, which illustrate the feasibility and accuracy of the theory.
