Science fiction translation in late Qing Dynasty and influence of Japan——taking Chinese versions of Liang Qichao and Lu Xun as examples

With the western culture spreading to the east,the transplant of science fiction introduced from Japan in late Qing Dynasty is of great interest in the study of translation history both in Japan and China.By comparing the Chinese and Japanese versions of Jules Verne's works,the paper focused on the background and attitude of acceptance of science fiction in Meiji and late Qing Dynasty period,and analyzed the intermediary role Japan played in the acceptance of western literature in late Qing Dynasty.By studying the Chinese versions,the paper also discussed the literary differences and multifarious characteristics between Chinese and Japanese versions,and portrayed the course of circulation and influence of Verne's works in Meiji and late Qing Dynasty.
