Abstract
Objective:To investigate the significance of plasma tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)level in septic shock. Methods:ELISA methods were used to determine the TNF-αlevel in septic shock. Results:Plasma TNF-αlevels in the patients with septic shock were significantly higher than the levels in healthy subjects(P0.01),and high TNF-αlevels were found in nonsurvivors compared to survivors.Conclusion:TNF-αplays important role in sepˉtic shock. The assay of them may be helpful for evaluation of septic shock and prognosis.
