Abstract
Objective To evaluate the spinal canal myelography in diagnosing prolapse of intervertebral disc (PID) and in percutaneous lumbar discectomy (PLD) treatment.Materials and Methods CT scan and myelography before PLD were performed in 56 cases with PID.Results Of 56 cases, 4 were normal, 3 had broken fibrous ring with nucleus polposus protruding into spinal canal, 2 were complicated by malignant tumor and 1 arachnoid adhesion.Conclusion Spinal canal myelography is a valuable study for the diagnosis of PID and for the selection of suitable cases to treat with PLD.
