Abstract

Blood viscosity and erythrocyte sedimentation rate are affected by the amount of erythrocyte aggregation and are parameters used to measure the aggregation. In this study, we show that the erythrocyte aggregation index of cerebral infarction group were significantly higher than the normal controls (P0.05). No change was found in the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (P0.05). Our results suggest that viscosity method is better than ESR in measuring erythrocyte aggregation.
