Abstract

Ca3Co4O9 is a kind of thermoelectric material,which can be apptied to practice widely.In this paper,thermoelectric material Ca3Co4O9 was doped with Ce into the composition of CexCa3-xCo4O9(x=0,0.1,0.3,0.5)which were prepared by solid state reaction and high pressure method.The microstructures and thermoelectric properties of the CexCa3-xCo4O9 were investigated in room temperature.The SEM measurement results showed that the samples prepared by higher pressurecould have higher density.The thermoelectric properties measurement showed that the electrical resistivity and Seebeck coefficient of CexCa3-xCo4O9 would increase with the increase of x.The maximum power factor was obtained when x=0.1.High pressure synthetic sample has higher thermoelectric performance than that of the same composition samples prepared by conventional solid state reaction.
