Abstract

Objective To investigate the application of spiral CT cerebral perfusion imaging in the diagnosis of acute infarction. Methods The data were analyzed of 12 patients, who fell ill in 6 hours, suspected of having acute ischemic infarction, were examined by non-enhanced computed tomography(CT),CT perfusion and examination by non-enhanced CT.These data were analyzed statistically. Results Non-enhanced CT scanning showed a slight reduction in the density of brain parenchyma in two cases, with brain shallow groove(17%)and CT perfusion showed perfusion abnormalities corresponding to clinical symptom region(83%)in 10 cases.Compared with the contra-lateral,CBF and CBV were decreased and MTT was extended. Two cases showed no abnormal characteristics by CT scanning,CT perfusion and CT review. Conclusion Non-enhanced CT is limited in the diagnosis of acute infarction and cannot meet the needs of clinical diagnosis and treatment. The clinical application of CT cerebral perfusion is of great importance to the diagnosis of acute infarction.
