Abstract

GC/MS method was applied to separate and identify the terpenes in young twigs of Pinus Tabulaeformis growing in Anshan City of Liaoning Province in different collecting dates. Variation of terpene content with time was discussed. The results showed that there were significant variations of the contents of α Pinene,β Pinene,β Mycrene and Limonene and little in Caryophyllene. The total content of the five chief terpenes is the highest about 80.17% percentage of the volatile oil in the first week of collection and the lowest about 66.13% percentage in the third week.
