Abstract

Objective To investigate the value of neuroepithelial(NE) cadherin protein conversion in predicting recurrence and prognosis of patients with bladder cancer. Methods 50 patients with bladder cancer was selected and studied.Expression of N-cadherin protein,E-cadherin protein and NE cadherin protein conversion of preoperative and postoperative bladder cancer patients were detected by immunohistochemical SP method. Results Postoperative positive rate of N-cadherin protein was 24.00%,it was significantly lower that that of preoperative patients;negative rate of E-cadherin protein was 64.00%,it was significantly higher than that of the preoperative patients;and NE-cadherin protein conversion rate was 26.00%,it was significantly lower after operation.N-cadherin protein positive rate,E-cadherin protein negative rate and NE cadherin protein conversion rate was positively correlated with tumor poorly differentiation and high clinical stage.Tumor recurrence of patients with NE cadherin protein conversion in 6-month,1-year,3-year was 16.67%,33.33%,66.67%,respectively.It was significantly higher than the NE cadherin protein unconverted patients, and 1-year,3-year postoperatively survival rate of NE cadherin protein unconverted group was higher.Mean interval between tumor recurrence and tumor-related overall survival of NE cadherin protein conversion patients was significantly shorter than the NE cadherin protein unconverted patients,(P0.05),it was statistically significant. Conclusion NE cadherin protein conversion is an important influencing factor for recurrence rate, recurrence interval and overall survival of patients with bladder cancer, and it is an effective biochemical markers for predicting survival status of patients with bladder cancer.
