Abstract
The present state of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in the sediments of Meiliang Bay were analyzedquantitatively using GC-ECD. The total concentrations of organochlorine pesticides determined in the samples were1.78~64.74ng/g in which HCHs and DDTs were detected in almost all samples; their concentrations were 0.23~1.81ng/g and 1.78~63.08ng/g respectively. In HCHs, the residual levels of ?HCH and -HCH were similar, while ?HCH was not detected. In DDTs the residual level of p,p?DDE was higher. In the pesticides HCHs might be inputted from newpollution sources. In many sampling points DDTs happened aerobic biological degradation. Compared with HCHs andDDTs contents in sediments of different water surfaces reported in China, the content of the pesticides in the sediment of Mailiang Bay was lower.
