Abstract
Top soil(0~30 cm) samples from 31 navel orange orchards in Southern Jiangxi were analyzed. The results showed that the soil pH was suitable in 74.19%orchards for navel orange growth, soil organic matter(OM) was low in 54.84%orchards,and available macronutrients N,P and K were 87.09%, 41.94%and 38.71%of the corresponding suitable levels, respectively. The orchards with P and K contents in higher range were 25.81%,22.58%,respectively.Therefore,the problems in fertilizer application in sourthern Jiangxi navel orange orchards were insufficient N application, considerably different in P and K application, and insufficient or excessive fertilizer application.
