Summary of Application of 3S Technology in Forest Landscape

Abstract

As the study object of landscape ecology, forest landscape is making forestry development faster and faster. 3S technology,intergrated with GIS and RS and GPS,provides a practical and effective means for the spactial analysis on forest landscape which emphasizes landscape heterogeneity and landscape hierarchy,landscape scale. Analysis on landscape pattern and landscape dynamic,landscape evaluation, landscape planning and design is carried out in forest engineering, forest resources inventory and planning, and forest resources mamagement. The problem and countermeasure to apply effectively 3S technology to forest landscape is put forward.
