Abstract
Aim: To investigate the distribution, conditions of incubation in uitro, and proliferative properties of adult rat neural stem cells. Methods:The cells isolated from striatuin, ventricular and subventricular zones of adult rats were cultured with serum-free medium and identified with immunocytochemistry, and its growth rules were observed at the same time. ResultS; The cells were able to proliferate to form neurospheres, its nestin immunocytochemical stain were positive, and its differentiated progeny expressed NSE and GFAP respectively. Conclusion ; The cells from specific zones have the characteristics of neural stem cell.
