Abstract
Influence of transesterification inhibitor on polycarbonate/polyarylate blends transesterification has been studied, the inhibiting mechanism has been investigated, and the effect of two different inhibitors triphenyl phosphate and disodium diphosphate on PC/PAR transesterification have been compared as well. Results show that the transesterification degree increases along with the increasing of the temperature and mixing time. The inhibition effect of disodium diphosphate on PC/PAR transesterification is better than that of triphenyl phosphate. The resulting products are long chain block copolymers after the addition of inhibitor, which improved the compatibility of the PC/PAR blends.
