Cultural Connotations in English and Chinese Names

Abstract

Names contain abundant cultural history.They not only reflect the connotation of national culture but also people's concept of values.A contrastive research on history,religious beliefs, values between Chinese and English names is made,deep cultural connotations between them are explianed and similarities in English and Chinese cultural backgrounds are analyzed,in order to help promote cultural exchange among different nations.
