Abstract

Eight phthalic acid esters (PAEs) of environmental hormone in chemical wastewater samples from five chemical factories have been investigated. Phthalic acid esters, such as Dibutyl phthalate (DBP), Bis (2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP), Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) and Dicyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP), were found in the samples, but Diethyl phthalate (DEP), Di-n-propyl phthalate( DPrP), Diamyl phthalate (DAP) and Di-n-hexyl phthalate (DHP) were not detected. The concentrations of DEHP and DBP in chemical wastewater were below the threshold of wastewater discharge.
